New Build
The new Damers First School is located within phase three of the development of Poundbury, and less than one mile from the existing school. The school is next to the Great Field. The single-storey building design, a two-storey school hall and adjoining community church hall to the south. The building has been influenced by both the masterplan strategy developed by the Duchy's master planner, Leon Krier, and the Poundbury Design Code.
Poundbury is an urban extension to the Dorset county town of Dorchester, built on Duchy of Cornwall land according to architectural principles advocated by The Prince of Wales.
To ensure that the feel and quality of the Poundbury development is maintained, the building has been finished using Portland Stone window surrounds, ornate columns and wall buttresses.
The Mechanical installation works comprised of the Supply and installation of the new plant room, commercial plumbing and heating distribution network, Air Handling & Heat recovery ventilation systems, natural ventilation, BMS controls, Underfloor Heating, external building services & above ground drainage.
