Private Estate – Tetbury – Gloucestershire
Watertite Heating Limited of Yeovil, Somerset, have successfully undertaken the project management, site installation and full co-ordination of 2 new Biomass Boilers at a prestigious private estate nr Tetbury, Gloucestershire.
Heat is generated by two Austrian manufactured ETA HACK 90kw boilers - supplied by Dunster Biomass Heating. These are capable of using either wood pellet or wood chip, supplemented by solar thermal panels. Heat is transferred through a district heating network of pre-insulated below ground pipework to the House, Estate Offices and out-buildings. To maximise efficiency, the system incorporates the latest technology and controls, enabling the temperature of each heating circuit to be adjusted to reflect external temperatures. Reliability is enhanced by the twin boiler system which is continuously monitored to ensure peak performance and to identify warnings or faults at the earliest opportunity.
The new remote plant room area and the bespoke fuel store have been located in one of the Estate's barns, some 250 metres away from the main house. They have been constructed utilising locally sourced timber, which includes waney edged Larch wood cladding, with magnificent hand crafted Sweet Chestnut doors, set in an Oak frame. The project was completed in December 2012.
Watertite's Directors - Marcus Rowswell, Jon Wintersgill & Julian Newbury - were delighted to be appointed Principal Contractor for a second time in the last 6 years at this estate
Watertite's site supervisor Wayne Hall and pipefitter Steve Rousell were both on the site for the full duration of the project. They both received particular thanks from the Estate Staff for their endeavours.
The overall contracts manager Mike Dennett commented that the project was a great success from both the client's perspective and the contractors.
