New Build First School for Dorset Council

The existing Wimborne First School was located in the town centre on School Lane. The accommodation was out dated, undersized, with restricted access, and limited for future expansion.

The provision of a new 3 form entry (FE) First School to the north of the town centre replaced the existing school. It also helped to accommodate an increase in pupil numbers generated by the recent housing developments, as proposed through the East Dorset Local Plan for the Wimborne area. It also met the objective of relocating the old school into the new school premises at Minster Gate.

The increased provision of a 3FE First School met the needs of the existing and newly incoming population, and the new school is now able to accommodate 450 pupils.

The Mechanical installation works comprised of the Supply and installation of the new plant room, commercial plumbing and heating distribution network, Air Handling & Heat recovery ventilation systems, natural ventilation, BMS controls, Underfloor Heating, external building services & above ground drainage.
